Sandra “Sandy” Neumann, age 87, of Portage died on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Rose Arbor Hospice.

Sandy was born on August 14, 1934 in Plainwell, the daughter of Newell and Evelyn Burt and met Jerold Neumann while a student at New Buffalo High School. The high school sweethearts were married on May 4, 1955 at the New Buffalo Methodist Church and together they raised their 3 children in a caring and loving home. For 20 years she worked as the secretary at CL Mahoney Company. Sandy enjoyed being outdoors, shopping and going to garage sales. After retirement she and Jerold would go to Florida each winter but returned home to be closer to family. Sandy will be forever known as a jovial lady with a free spirit. She kept a positive outlook on life and had a deep sense of knowing God. Members of her family include her husband Jerold; 3 children: Vicky Neumann, Cherie Neumann (Richard Juriga), and Gerald (Alma) Neumann. She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Burt.

Cremation has taken place and services will take place at a later date. Visit Sandy’s webpage at BetzlerLifeStory.com to archive favorite memories, photos and sign her guestbook. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Wounded Warrior. Betzler Life Story Funeral Homes, 6080 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo (269) 375-2900
