5 Star Facebook Review:

When we lost our wonderful Dad, and Mom's husband of 64 years, we agreed we wanted to celebrate his life, in an informal but respectful setting where guests could be at ease and share memories and laughter, as well as tears. In our grief, I'm not sure any of us believed it was really possible.

But what a beautiful tribute to Dad the Betzler family created. Scott, Tami, and all the staff were caring, responsive, and attentive to details in creating a beautiful environment that represented Dad well and made everyone comfortable. We loved the comfort dogs, Hollie and Ellie, and the food and drink were great. So many guests remarked that they wanted to go out with a gathering like Dad's. Heartfelt thanks to you and your staff, Scott, for the comfort you gave us in Dad's service.

Details.. It's all in the details. One wouldn't think you would remember such things at such a time, but you do. From the kindness of the gentlemen that took Sam for his last ride, to the beautiful quilt, to the minute we left Betzler, we were treated with tenderness and love.

We felt so comfortable with Scott it was easy to share many of Sam's stories. From there he wove a life story that was a true picture of the man that we love.

The home itself is arranged in such a manner with beautiful lighting and outside seating that all of our guests could move comfortably and engage in conversation or partake in the wonderful refreshments that were served.

Thank you Scott and everyone behind the scenes that made the arrangements, refreshments, pictures, videos, and so many extras special and smooth. You made an evening that I and my family will never forget.

This funeral home is Kalamazoo's finest!! The attention to detail, the caring staff and comfortable setting, is so important during a time of loss. Every funeral that I have been to, including my great uncles today, has been nothing but positive. Thank you Scott Betzler for an amazing job well done.

When my dad passed away unexpectedly, my family was in shock and overwhelmed with grief, and not even sure how to go about orchestrating the many details of the visitation, funeral service, burial etc.

Our closest family friend recommended Betzler Life Story to us after the recent experience she had with them doing a service for a loved one. I honestly just wanted to get through the services because I was so distracted by pain, but Scott Betzler went above and beyond with how he cared for the arrangements for my daddy. He sat with us as we recalled the great memories of my dad's life and our favorite parts of his character and he paid attention to every detail which was revealed later, as the visitation and website story portrayed in better words than I could have articulated, the man that has been my hero all my life.

When we arrived at dad's visitation to see such a display and array of food preparation so particular to dad's favorite thingsit turned into a true celebration of dad and his friends and family gathered for hours, no one wanting to leave. The video and slides of dad's life playing to beautiful music brought friends from different times of dad's life into conversations with each other about who he was. As his daughter, I got to observe my dad's impact in the lives around Betzler during the visitation and it brought such pride and warmth at a time I thought nothing could help ease the sadness.

The reason I put so much effort into this review, and so close to the actual experience, is because it really impacted me, the level of compassion and service that Scott Betzler has shown in going above and beyond with his job. It is more of a ministry than a career because he made us feel so appreciative even during the hardest days of my life thus far.

My sister said it best, Scott felt like family during this whole experience. There was no impatience or rushing when us siblings got long-winded on our trips down memory lane, or with the editing and re-editing of obituary details. I can't thank Betzler Life Story enough for helping my mom deal with details she has never considered before, such as memorializing dad through media, headstone details, thank you cards, and so much more. If you are looking to experience true celebration and remembrance of a loved one, they will care for you as though you were their only focus.

Thank you again Scott

5 Star Google Review from Megan Roschek:

Betzler Funeral Home has been a friend to our family for many years. When we recently needed their services they once again went above and beyond to accommodate us. All of the staff are very helpful and willing to make your experience as easy and worry-free as possible. They have a way of assuring you that everything will be taken care of, even those items you never even thought about; they have you covered. Our thanks and gratitude for their help and service is hard to put into words.

Dear Scott and Julie,

Thank you so very much for making a difficult time in our lives go without a hitch. You allowed us to simply grieve my Mom’s passing. You provided the class and dignity that she deserved. It truly felt like my mom organized everything (I mean that as a compliment). Though this is truly a tough time to work through – knowing she had a beautiful visitation, funeral mass, luncheon and burial brings me much peace. You have found your calling.

God bless you and keep you,

Dear Scott and Staff,

I want to thank you for your hard work in making sure that my father was given a memorable and beautiful funeral. I’ve never seen a funeral home do all the extra things that you do. The food, the book, the story, the film, just everything you did for us. You’re so organized. You made things a lot easier for me. It was all very comforting. You always gave us your time if we called you for any reason. Thank you for that too. Also for my mother and grandma’s funerals. You are the best and hardest working funeral home I’ve ever seen. You did it with grace and, unnoticed at, how hard you work.

Thank you again.

Scott,

I cannot express enough, what a great job you and your staff did to help my family through this tough time. From our initial meeting to the day of the service your dedication to details made the whole process less stressful and allowed me to focus on my dad and other family members. Your words and all the arrangements truly paid a great tribute to my mom.

I personally thanked the caterer for an outstanding job on the food and beverage with many compliments coming from other family members, but please - thank them again.

Sincerely,
Ron St. Clair

Dear Betzler Family,

The many kindnesses and compassion you have shown to us have been very meaningful during our loss. The informal chats, the arrangements and the many details were very professionally taken care of and we appreciate you honoring Dean in that manner.

Sincerely,

The entire Betzler “family staff” is so amazing! I have been worrying about this time in my life for years and your professionalism goes way above and beyond. We feel like we should be including you all in future family functions!

My Mother passed on Mother’s Day in 2011.She had been ill for some time, never the less it was, and is very painful to lose someone that close to you. We unfortunately lost another close family member less than a year ago, that's when we first met the Betzler family. Not all of the staff there is related but because they made us feel so welcomed, so at ease, and at peace they all seemed related. They showed us genuine concern and care and were very professional. We didn't feel as though we had walked into a funeral home at all, we were greeted at the door, seated in a very comfortable surrounding, offered refreshments and began our conversation. All of my siblings and I sat in a circle just telling our Mother's story as the arranger typed on their lap top.Later what just felt like an ordinary conversation turned into a well scripted Life Story they put together about Mom The visitation service was a time for friends and family to say hello to us and goodbye to our Motherfor now. No one is ever "scripted" as to what a visitation should look or feel like but I can say thisMy Mother looked beautiful, was well represented, and was cared for lovingly. Everything Betzlers did was professional and caringThey helped us give our Mother a home going that she would have been proud of.

Thank you!

My grandfather died and we had his funeral just last week. They are just remarkable at how attentive, caring, warm and compassionate they are. We felt like they were part of the family. Mr. Betzler is so wonderful at reading throughout his service and we are so appreciative of that. The dog also adds a special, warm touch to the atmosphere. We would recommend them to anyone who has to face any funeral arrangement. Thank you so much!
