Harold "Bob" Martin, Jr.

H. Robert Martin Jr. of Kalamazoo, age 94, died on August 28, 2023. Bob was born January 13, 1929, in Marion, Indiana to Harold Robert Sr. and Peg (Hutchinson) Martin. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Bob began his career as a Shell Service Station owner in Battle Creek, MI. He also worked at Grand Trunk and in the insurance industry. First with John Hancock and later with Western and Southern, as well as in sales for Crumpton Automotive. His true passion though was the outdoors. Spending an early morning hunting in the woods, or a lazy evening at his favorite fishing hole brought him much peace and comfort.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances (Fran); son, Tim; brother, Jack (Laverne) Martin. Bob was very proud of the family he and Fran had started. Surviving are his children: Terry (Dave) Brown, Mike (Cindy) Martin, Scott (Sue) Martin, Joe (Lori) Martin, and Amy (Michele) Martin-Tyler; grandchildren: Erin (Matt) Brady, Elizabeth (Tony) Del Barrio, Tim (Heather) Martin, Andy (Caitlin) Martin, Matthew (Christina) Brown, Kristen (Justin) Horine, Scott (Casie) Martin, Patrick Martin, Cora (Mike) Broadhurst, Madison Martin (Brandon Watros), Ethan Martin, and Clark Martin; great-grandchildren Mahayla and Killian Martin, Nino and Evelia Del Barrio, Patrick T. Martin, Sophia and Emmaline Brown, Zane and Huck Horine, Isabelle Martin, Lily Broadhurst; and many nieces and nephews.
