Tammy Nye

Tammy Nye of Gobles, age 43, died on July 13, 2021. Tammy was born June 4, 1978 in Kalamazoo. Compassionate and caring, it was no secret Tammy’s children, Haley and Drew, were her pride and joy. Whether cheering them on at their sporting events or sharing conversation on a phone call, Tammy made sure they had something to enjoy together. She loved all things summer. The beach in South Haven with a little baby oil and Kyle Jennings playing at Captain Lou's made for a perfect afternoon getaway. Her life partner, Brandon Surdy, was a constant source of encouragement. The couple were lifelong friends who reconnected later in life and began dating. Camping with family and friends provided the backdrop for so many memories. It didn’t matter if she was in a camper or a tent, Tammy could be counted on to bring the fun and make people laugh. While she enjoyed watching someone else prepare breakfast, Tammy never forgot to bring the s’mores. Though Brandon was her true love, Tom Brady may just come in a close second. If he was playing in the game it was sure to be a good day.

Tammy was preceded in death by her dad, Richard Munn, and her grandma, Eleanor Smith. Surviving are her life partner, Brandon Surdy; children: Haley (Bradley) Meeker and Drew Nye; granddaughter, Harper Meeker; sister, Kim Hoffmaster; niece, Ciara Hoffmaster; mom, Gail Munn; many extended family and a significant circle of special friends.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration will be held Sunday, August 15th 1-4 PM at The Vintage Rose Barn, 21335 CR 653, Gobles.
