It is with great sadness that the family of Sarah Jane Jackson announces her passing on June 27th, 2024, at age 92. Sarah was born on September 21, 1931, in Dowagiac, Michigan to Maurice and Blanche Adams.
Sarah and her husband John were married on March 27, 1954, becoming lifelong farmers in East Decatur. Spending over 70 years together, Sarah was a dedicated wife who valued family. With the never-ending farm work, Sarah would spend much of her time helping with the various chores on the farm as well as taking care of a growing young family. Sarah enjoyed family history, stamp collecting, as well as collecting dog figurines. Sarah and John were inseparable, often playing cards with family and friends as well as frequenting garage sales.
Sarah is survived by her two sons, Thomas (Cheryl) Jackson and Jerry (Cindy) Jackson; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Her husband John Jackson, preceded her in death in 2023. Her daughter, Toni (Dan) Benson, preceded her in death in 2013. Her family will hold a private memorial and burial later in her honor.
