"Rob was one of the nicest men I ever met and always had a kind word to say to anyone around him." These words were shared with family upon the death of Robert F. Jonaitis Jr., 57, in Topeka, KS.
Rob was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI, and had the gift of making friends among strangers, leading later to a successful career in sales and management. Rob's love of the Chicago Bears, Bulls, and White Sox was well known, forever the fan to defend the teams even in seasons of despair.
His passion for sports extended into music. Rob was a dedicated fan of the blues and was known to champion and support the Kalamazoo Blues Fest. He also was a self-taught acoustic guitarist frequently playing his favorite songs of all music genres.
Rob died unexpectedly August 8, 2021 of natural causes. Rob is survived by his father, Robert Jonaitis (Kalamazoo, MI); brother, Mark Jonaitis (Royal Oak, MI); and sister, Tamara Xamplas (Durham, NC). Services will remain private and the family encourages sharing of memories on Facebook/Robert Jonaitis Jr.
