Celebrating a life that illuminated the world with love and dedication, Nancy Merriman, 68, gracefully departed this realm on December 14th, 2023. With the heart of a lioness and the soul of a healer, Nancy etched her legacy as a revered nurse, an adored mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and wife.

Born October 16th, 1955, Nancy's vivacious spirit lit up the lives of all she encountered. Her infectious laughter and unwavering kindness were as legendary as her fierce dedication to her nursing career. Nancy's compassion knew no bounds; she comforted, healed, and uplifted countless souls during her 38 years in nursing. She passionately promoted kangaroo care, breast feeding, proper car seat usage and medical education throughout the community.

Family meant the world to Nancy, though she was preceded in death by her Mother and Father; Alice (Veldt) and Dewayne Moote, and her sister Ruth. She leaves behind her husband Doug, and siblings Patricia, Linda, Steve and David. She left a lifelong, indelible mark on her three cherished children: the spirited Chrissie (Ken) Reed, the steadfast Christopher (Penny) Merriman, and the radiant Jennifer (Joseph) Graham. Her love and guidance will forever echo in their hearts, especially her 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and countless other relatives, and friends.

A force of nature, Nancy's vibrant presence lit up any room she entered. Her zest for life, coupled with her unwavering determination, inspired all who knew her. Her love for adventure and laughter made her the life of every gathering, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

Besides enjoying her time on a beach, or traveling most anywhere, she very much enjoyed knitting, sewing, embroidery, canning, gardening, and spending time with her puppies.

In honoring Nancy's spirit, the family invites all whose lives she touched to a jubilant celebration of her life at Westwood United Methodist Church on December 23rd, 2023 at 11am. In lieu of mourning, let's celebrate her life with stories, laughter, and joy, as she would have wished.

Nancy's light may have dimmed in this world, but her legacy of love, compassion, and tenacity will continue to shine brightly, guiding us through dark times and inspiring us to spread kindness wherever we go. Rest in power, dear Nancy, your impact will resonate in our hearts forever.

If one wishes, we would like donations directed to Hospital Hospitality House of Southwest Michigan. https://hhhkz.org/donate/
