Died September 28, 2020 at Park Village Pines Assisted Living. Louella was born May 21, 1923, the only child of John Curtis and Jennie Mabel (Langston) Whisler in Arcadia, IN. A resident of Kalamazoo since 1960, she worked as a Secretary/Administrative Assistant for 30 years, working for Shakespeare/Spearflex and retiring in 1987. She enjoyed her family, her career, reading, and meeting with friends and family. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and served as President of this organization. She was also a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, serving as President of both the local Chapter and State Association, also a member of Ladies Library Association and served on its Board. Lou graduated from Arcadia Indiana High School in 1941 and received an Associate’s Degree from Indiana Business College in 1943. She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald “Jerry” whom she fell in love with while attending college and married in 1944 in Tipton, IN. She is survived by one son: Gregory Curtis Bradley and his wife Carol of Kalamazoo; and 5 nieces and nephews: Linda (Merion) Alsas, Barbara Martin, Beth Howard, Bradley (Jan) Howard and David Bradley (Joe Penny). A Memorial Service will be held next spring at First United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Louella Bradley Psi Iota Xi Sorority Speech and Hearing Scholarship Fund at Western Michigan University and First United Methodist Church.
