Harold Forbes of Decatur, age 76, died on June 27, 2024. Harold was born October 2, 1947 in Paw Paw to Henry and Mable (Brown) Forbes who precede him in death, along with his sister-in-law, Cheryl Forbes, and brother-in-law, Neal Street. Surviving are his siblings: Gladys Street, Rex Forbes, Patsy (David) Garrison, Veda Forbes; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Harold was raised on a farm, helping his dad, an upbringing that shaped his deep love for being outdoors and hard work. He has fond memories of driving the tractor and harvesting crops.

Harold retired from Coca-Cola where he dedicated years to warehouse operations. Known for his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need, Harold’s generosity and kind spirit touched many lives. His nieces and nephews especially remember him for his playful teasing and infectious humor.

Described as an amazing man with a heart of gold, Harold will be dearly missed for his loving nature, memorable jokes, and warm hugs. His legacy of hard work, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Service will be held Tuesday, July 9, at 11 AM at Betzler & Thompson Life Story Funeral Homes, M40, Paw Paw (269) 657-3870. Visitation will begin one-hour prior. Celebrate Harold’s life online by sharing your favorite stories and photos on his dedicated webpage at BetzlerLifeStory.com. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 667 in South Haven, MI.
