Garth Prindle, a lifelong resident of Lawton died on Friday, January 14, 2022 at White Oaks Assisted Living. He was born on April 9, 1923 in Lawton, the son of Theron and Hilda (Knapp) Prindle and graduated from Lawton High School in 1941. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps on Midway Island during WWII. Garth attended the Cincinnati School of Embalming and graduated Cum Laude in the class of 1947. Garth owned and operated Prindle Funeral Home in Lawton for 25 years where he helped many families with his kindness and compassion. Garth was known for establishing Sportsmans Center which later became Prindle Marine in Lawton. He was actively involved in community service.

Garth was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Ruth, his daughter Helen and his grandson Tyler Graham Prindle Lewis. He is survived by two children; his son Garth Jr. “Butch” Prindle (Nancy) and his daughter Lynn Prindle (Graham Lewis); 3 grandchildren: Daniel Prindle (Jacquie), Michael Prindle (Meghan) and Steven Prindle; 3 great grandchildren: Joseph, Elizabeth and Jack; and his special companion Sue Fink.

The family wishes to thank the staff at White Oaks and Centrica for their care and compassion. A private service will be held in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
