Donald Saidla, age 79, a longtime resident of Mattawan died at his residence on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 with his loving family by his side. On February 5, 1960 he married Sheron Sherburn and together they raised their family in a loving and caring home. A supportive father and a good provider for his family, Don worked for more than 25 years as a tool and die maker at General Motors. He was very active in the Mattawan Masonic Lodge and was a 33rd degree Mason through the Scottish Rite. He will be remembered as one who put his family first. He is now resting in peace.

Members of his family include his loving wife Sheron; 3 children: Brenda (Kent) Kaser, Donald W. (Beth) Saidla, Brett ( Amy) Saidla; 6 grandchildren: Kristyn (Derek) Clarke, Ashley (Stephen) Vanspronsen, Logan (Ashley) Saidla, Austin (Meghan) Saidla, Brandon (Bridgette) Saidla, Matt (Fiancee Ally) Saidla; 7 great grandchildren: Kain, Taylor, Kolton, Keeland, Wyatt, Blake, Rylee; 3 siblings: Howard (Linda) Saidla, Glenna (Ed) Marx, Marcia (Roger) Hutton; a sister-in-law Janice Saidla and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Brian, a brother Harley Saidla.

Cremation has taken place and Don will be buried next to his son Brian in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Masonic services and luncheon will be held on Saturday, July 10th from 11 am until 2 pm at the Mattawan Masonic Lodge, 25347 Front Street.
