Chad Zehner, age 45, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at his residence. He was born on August 25, 1977 in Kalamazoo and grew up in Portage and graduated from Delton-Kellogg High School in 1997. Chad was a skilled auto mechanic and in his spare time he enjoyed racing remote control cars, bowling and fishing. Chad had the ability to make useful things out of random items and had the uncanny ability to make others laugh. He will be remembered as a gentle soul who put the needs of others in front of his own.
Members of his family include fiancée Stephanie McGrail and her daughter Allie Kramer; his Father Greg and his wife Mary Zehner, his Mother Debra and her husband Mike Hopkins, his sister Daphne and her husband Tim Baker, his grandmother Shirley Barnett, a niece Brittanie Labarr, a nephew Rhyan Baker and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cremation has taken place and celebration of Chad's life will take place Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Lakeview Park, Portage. Donations may be made intracranial Research Foundation.
