Age 56, died unexpectedly on June 23, 2019 at Bronson Hospital, Kalamazoo. Brian was born November 16, 1962 in Kalamazoo, the son of Marvin and Bernadine (Kuchmek) Downey. He graduated from Portage Northern High School and worked as a custodian for Kalamazoo County. Brian loved his family and was an avid golfer. Members of his family include his parents; 3 brothers: Larry (Nancy) Downey, Mark Downey and Garry (Steph) Downey; and 11 nieces and nephews: Frank Downey, Patty Downey, Carmen Downey, Kerry Downey, Sean Downey, Alex Downey, Cecelia Downey, James Croft, Anna Croft, Megan Wight and Sarah Crossway. Cremation will take place. Private services are being held. Memorials may be directed to St. Thomas More Parish.
