Barb Roy

Barbara Roy of Portage, age 75, died on July 29, 2026. She was born July 24, 1951 in Holland, Michigan, to Nelson and Ruth Hoffman. For 54 years, Barb shared a beautiful life with her husband, Thomas. The two met at the student center while attending Western Michigan University and built a marriage filled with love, adventure, and devotion. Together they enjoyed traveling, camping with their children, and exploring in their RV. Ludington State Park held a special place in Barb's heart; a favorite destination from her own childhood that became a cherished family tradition for generations.

Naturally artistic and creative, Barb studied graphic design and eventually opened her own business, creating logos and publications for organizations including the Air Zoo and many others. She found joy in bringing ideas to life and sharing her gifts with those around her.

Throughout her life, Barb faced numerous health challenges with strength and grace. In recent years, Thomas devoted himself wholeheartedly to her care, faithfully walking beside her every step of the way, a beautiful reflection of the love they shared throughout their marriage.

Barb is preceded in death by her son, Thomas. Surviving are her husband, Thomas; daughter, Melissa (Rob) Treff; grandchildren: Michael, Sara, JT, and Adam; brothers: Robert (Connie) Hoffman and Alan (Darlene) Hoffman.
