Life Story / Obituary
Wilma Lahman, age 91, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Wilma’s unconditional love and steady presence held her family close throughout her life.
Born on March 10, 1935, in Maryland, Wilma was the daughter of hardworking parents and grew up alongside her siblings near Swanton, Maryland. She later met Lloyd Lahman, the love of her life, through mutual friends. Following Lloyd’s return home from military service, the two quickly fell in love and were married in Oakland, Maryland.
Together, Wilma and Lloyd built a life centered on family. Wilma devoted herself to raising their daughters, Debbie (Dave) and Pam (Dwane), creating a warm and welcoming home where family gatherings and holidays were treasured.
In retirement, Wilma and Lloyd enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and beyond, creating many cherished memories together. Above all, Wilma treasured time with her family, including her grandchildren, Mandy, Brandy, and Josh, and great-grandchildren, Tonya, Maggie, and Caleb.
A woman of deep faith, Wilma read her Bible daily and found joy in simple pleasures—reading, instrumental music, and quiet moments at home with those she loved. She was kind, compassionate, and unwavering in her love for family and faith.
Wilma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd, in 2006. Private services were held with burial at Ft. Custer National Cemetery beside her husband. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse. Celebrate Wilma’s life online by sharing memories and photos on her dedicated webpage at BetzlerLifeStory.com.
