Age 79, died on January 8, 2020. Victor was born May 29, 1940 in Detroit, the son of Matthew and Eugenia (Sawchuk) Dmitruk. Known as a true family man, Victor made sure to spend time with those he loved most. He cheered on his children at sporting events and encouraged them in school and other activities. He enjoyed Tiger’s baseball games, particularly if stopping for White Castle on the way. Vic even became an avid chef. He cooked for his future bride, Vicki, showing up to her home with an armful of groceries on their first date. Later, he shared the kitchen with his daughter, Kim. With encouragement from his mentor, he capitalized on the opportunity to become a clinical pediatric psychologist, building a network of practices throughout his career. Perhaps more than anything, however, Vic loved fishing, teaching his children on Little Paw Paw Lake, Gull Lake, and many others. This was his peaceful retreat and he was always looking for the next fishing hole off the beaten path to spend a day on the water, creating some of his happiest memories. Victor was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Vicki; children: Christine Tarcsay, Jonathon (Betsy) Dmitruk, Kimberly Dmitruk, and Benjamin Dmitruk; grandchildren: Miles, Matthew, Jackson, Joseph. Cremation has taken place. Private services will be held. Visit Victor’s personal webpage at www.BetzlerLifeStory.com where you may archive a favorite memory or photo and sign his online guestbook.
