Life Story / Obituary
Terri Whipple of Paw Paw, age 65, died on January 22, 2026. Terri was born July 18, 1960 to Roy and Thelma (Pathic) Owens. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Owens; sister, Connie Barnaby. Surviving are her husband, Mike Whipple; son, Michael (Jill) Whipple; grandson, Degan; brother, Gary (Christy) Owens; nephews and nieces: Brian (Toni) Owens, Melissa (Kyle) Wentland, Robert Owens, Ryan Owen, Lisa Owens, Danny Owens, Shannon Owens; sister-in-law, Pat Owens; brother-in-law, Tad Barnaby; and her best friend Lisa Whipple.
Terri was, in every sense of the phrase, a super cool lady to those who knew her best—especially to Mike and Michael. When Terri married Mike, Michael was 18 years old, and she stepped into her role with grace, generosity, and an open heart. Without hesitation or regret, she helped Michael get established in life, offering support freely and lovingly.
Terri found joy in simple pleasures. She loved cooking alongside Mike and was happiest when food was ready for anyone who might stop by. Evenings often included the Hallmark Channel, old black-and-white television shows, murder mysteries, or an episode of Matlock—comforting routines that reflected her easygoing spirit.
Above all, Terri had a big heart. She deeply loved her family and showed that love through her actions, her generosity, and her steady presence. She will be remembered for the care she gave, the laughter she shared, and the way she made others feel at home.
