Roger Sheline

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Roger Ludlow Sheline of Bangor, Michigan. Roger went home to be with the Lord on April 10th, 2025, surrounded by family. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.

Roger lived his life to serve the Lord and take care of his family who were his pride and joy. He loved nothing more than spending time with his 6 grandchildren and wife of 58 years Leslie on his beloved Van Auken Lake. He relished spoiling his grandkids with dishes of Moose tracks ice cream, videos, fires and stories of “Jurassic Auken” He was an avid water skier and achieved his incredible goal of deep-water slalom skiing at the age of 80. He was known and adored by many and proudly embraced his title as the unofficial mayor of Van Auken Lake. Roger also loved classic cars restoring and showing many over the years. Prior to his retirement he worked as a used truck manager for 30 years and started each day with a devotion and a competitive game of racquetball. Roger was an admiral man in so many ways. He was always ready to sit and share a laugh or his self-taught financial expertise and humbly gave sought after advice to many in both life and business matters. We never had to guess his devotion to those close to him and he always thought of others before himself. Roger led an incredibly impressive life and we are all better off for knowing him. His legacy of devotion, generosity, kindness and strong faith will remain with all who knew him. He will always be in our hearts and deeply missed.

Roger is survived by his children Roger Daron (Ginger) Sheline; Renee Leslie (David) Stair; his 6 grandchildren Lauren Hoye; Devin Stair; Madison Sheline; Reaghan Stair; Spencer Sheline and Dawson Stair; great granddaughter Audrey Hoye and brother Daniel Sheline.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ludlow Sheline and Madgeline (Prohaska) Sheline and brother Bruce Sheline.
