Regina Kay Garcia, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 25, 2024. Born on June 2, 1962, Regina spent her early childhood between Alabama and Michigan, ultimately settling in Lawton, Michigan, where she made her home and raised her family.

Regina graduated from Hartford High School before dedicating her life to being a homemaker. She brought warmth and laughter to those around her, known for her loving, funny, and strong-willed spirit. One of her favorite sayings, “What a deal, what a deal,” never failed to light up the room and put a smile on people’s faces.

Family was the Center of Her World

Regina was blessed with a large and loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Veronica Rodriguez, and grandchildren Mya, Ramiro, and Andrea; and her son, Richard (Britany) Hill, and grandchildren Annabelle, Ricki, and Abagail. She will also be dearly missed by her mother, Betty Spangler; siblings Tammy Wood, Charles Spangler II, Michelle Spangler, Amanda Strand, Jason Spangler, and her dearest cousin and best friend Peggy Winchester. Regina was preceded in death by her beloved husband of many years, Alcario Garcia, and her father, Charles Spangler.

A Passion for Faith, Family, and Fun

Regina found her greatest joy in cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events and by being in their presence. A devout Pentecostal, she cherished attending church with her grandson, where her faith and love for family intertwined seamlessly. When at home, she enjoyed settling into her favorite soap operas and listening to her favorite classic country hits.

A Lasting Legacy

Regina’s caring nature, independence, and perseverance left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. She handled life’s challenges with grace, leaning on her faith, and always staying true to her vibrant personality. Whether she was offering a helping hand, sharing a hearty laugh, or exclaiming “What a deal, what a deal,” her presence was a gift that will be cherished forever.

A private funeral service will be held with Regina’s immediate family to honor her life and the wonderful memories they shared. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all who have offered support and prayers during this difficult time. They encourage those who knew Regina to celebrate her life by remembering her warm smile, generous spirit, and signature catchphrase.

Regina leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and resilience—she will be deeply missed by her loved ones and the Lawton community she called home. May she rest in peace.
