Life Story / Obituary
Randy Smarzewski died at his residence in Lawton on Saturday, November 20, 2021. He was born on July 27, 1953 to Joseph and Constance Smarzewski and lived in Chicago until coming to Lawton in 1990’s. Randy worked as a house painter and was very particular about his work as everything had to be precise and neat. It was hard for Randy to stay idle as he liked being outdoors, tinkering with mechanical things while listening to music blaring on one of his several stereos that he owned. Though they were never married, he and Rosalie Bailey have been together since 1993 and they enjoyed taking cruises and Randy would begrudgingly go with Rosalie to local flea markets. Determined and strong willed would be two phrases that describes Randy and those characteristics served him well throughout life, especially his last 5 years as he battled various forms of cancer. Surviving members of his family include his lifetime partner of 28 years Rosalie Bailey; 2 children: Joe and Erin Smarzewski; 3 sisters: Tammy, Debbie, and Kathy. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers. Cremation has taken place and services will be announced by his family.
