Life Story / Obituary

Print

Age 87, died peacefully on September 12, 2021. Phyllis was born July 8, 1934 in Kalamazoo to Raymond and Irene (Klepper) Miller. The matriarch of her family, Phyllis enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She worked at Upjohn Company for a short time before starting her family. From then on, Phyllis was a devoted housewife, mother, and eventually a grandmother and great-grandmother. Camping with friends around the state was a regular summer activity. She’d also travel to Arizona with her husband, Bob, every winter with their fifth wheel. Being outside and enjoying the sunshine was always a favorite way to relax. And nothing surpassed the joy she found in her Cocker Spaniels over the years.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Richard Culp; brother, David Miller; granddaughter: Krista Wilkinson; and great-grandson: Ryker Wilkinson. Surviving are her children: Deborah Wilkinson, Jim Culp, and Patricia Heystek; grandchildren: Andrew (Heather) Wilkinson, Nicholas (Kyah) Culp, Joseph Culp, Douglas (Kaylee) Heystek, Ashley Heystek, Bryan (Felisha) Culp, and Amanda Culp; great-grandchildren: Kinsley, Hunter, Ian, Emily, Amelia, and Eleanor; sister, Judy (Robert) Eager; and several nieces and nephews.
