Pete Aris

William (Pete) Aris

2/9/1946-6/3/2025

Pete was born in New Jersey to parents Frances (Roseboom) and William and was an only child. He graduated from Albion High School and continued his education earning his college degree from Western Michigan University.

Pete started his professional career at a bank in Kalamazoo, MI. He then moved into international credit in the seed department at Upjohn. Following that, Pete became a partner in a car dealership. He also started a restaurant with his son, Ryan, all while working hard on rental properties in northern Michigan. Upon retirement, Pete moved to his condo on the water in Sutton’s Bay, MI.

Pete had a large personality and a larger love for life. Family, Michigan football, everything water related, traveling, dogs, good food and his home stereo equipment were his great loves in life. He coached his children in their favorite sports and as they grew, dedicated most of his free time them and those sports. His proudest moments were always related to his children and grandchildren’s activities.

Pete will be remembered fondly for his one-of-a-kind laugh, kindness, support for his children and grandchildren, great stories (even if you’d heard them all so many times you know them by heart), greater heart, and the ability to make you smile-especially when you didn’t feel like it.

Pete is survived by his son Ryan (April) Aris, daughter Kristie Aris (Brian Humprey), grandchildren Kaleb (O’Neal), Allysen (Davenport), Elizabeth (Holmes), Lukas (Aris) and longtime partner Shirley Nuss (we can’t leave out his best buddy, Cooper).

Thanks, Dad. We are lucky to have had the time we had with you and we will never forget the impact you have made on so many of us. You will be missed. We love you BIG.
