Mary Clugston

Mary Clugston of Kalamazoo, age 89, died on October 26, 2021. Mary was born July 13, 1932 in Kalamazoo to Roy and Mildred (Norris) Quinn. Honest to a fault, Mary truly enjoyed the people around her. She led a simple life with her husband, George, and had a particular look about her as if she was sizing you up. Once you got to know her, it was hard not to love her. She was willing to help those in need in her younger years. She enjoyed farming and sold eggs and potatoes among other things. Of course, it could be said she loved the bartering part more than the farming. She also worked for Continental Linen for a time. After moving into Heritage Community, she was a regular at the bingo table and everyone knew her as the resident greeter. She’d gladly sit in her chair by the lobby door, saying a friendly hello to everyone that came through. As much as she loved people, she may just have loved her pet poodle more than anything.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George; and siblings: Roy, Ray, Darryl, Meryl, Jim, Frank, Richard, and June. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place.
