Lillian Jones, a longtime resident of the area died on Monday, March 7, 2022. She was born on November 1, 1927 in Chicago IL, the daughter of Mathias and Caroline (Messinger) Ascherl. On February 23, 1952 she married Nyel Jones and together they shared 55 years of marriage until his passing in 2007. Over the years they enjoyed bowling, dancing, golfing, and traveling. Lillian was a longtime member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She is survived by nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Arnold and Fredrick Arscherl. Funeral Services will be 3 PM Monday (MAR 14) at the Betzler Life Story Funeral Homes, 6080 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo (269) 375-2900. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
