With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kimberly KayAnn Milani, 65, a resident of Plainwell, MI, passed away surrounded by loved ones at home on Friday, July 12, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of dedication, love, and passion that touched the lives of many.

Kim was born on March 4, 1959, to Marvin and Linda (Meyle) Shook in Kalamazoo, MI. Kim was proceeded in death by her mother.

She attended Plainwell High School before pursuing higher education at Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

On March 2,1979, Kim united in marriage with high school classmate, Christopher Milani at Plainwell First United Methodist Church.

Kim's childhood was spent helping on the family farm, participating in youth group at Plainwell First United Methodist where she made lasting friendships, and as the eldest child often caring for her brothers and sister. In her senior year at Plainwell High School Kim was voted “nicest person in her class”, this could not be more appropriate to how Kim lived her life, she influenced everyone she met with her kind heart. After her early education, Kim held multiple jobs including starting her career as a paralegal in Plainwell, Posey Plumbing and Heating, thrived as a real estate agent, and finally was the office manager at Bronco Asphalt Maintenance supporting the family business.

Beyond her professional achievements, Kim was known for her dedication to her family, loving heart, and her desire to entertain showcasing her amazing cooking skills. However, her greatest passion in life was undoubtedly her family. Kim cherished every moment spent with her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren.

Kim is survived by her husband of 45 years, Chris Milani, and their devoted children: Christopher Milani II and Joshua (Ashley) Milani. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren: Lexus, Kaitlyn, Easton, and Kennedy. Kim’s memory will be forever cherished by her siblings: Randy (Mary) Shook, Angie (Harold) Immekus and Jeff (Gail) Shook.

A service will be held to honor Kim’s life and legacy at Plainwell First United Methodist Church (200 Park Street, Plainwell) starting at 2 pm August 8, 2024. Reception to follow at Bay Pointe Inn (11456 Marsh Rd, Shelbyville). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kim’s memory to the O’Leary Foundation (www.olearyfoundation.com/donations/).
