Joni Walker

Age 42, died unexpectedly on December 9, 2020. Joni was born October 17, 1978 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Michael and Kathy (Rayburn) Walker. Quiet and reserved, Joni was known for her special way with children. It’s been said, if you needed a child to fall asleep, give them to Aunt Joni! She loved being around kids, caring for them, and teaching them new things. She worked at different daycares prior to opening her own in-home daycare. She always had a craft project for them to keep busy with, especially during the holidays. Joni was also a Sunday school teacher at her church. In the background, Joni would enjoy relaxing to the a cappella melodies of the Pentatonix or her rousing favorites from Boyz II Men.

Surviving are her parents; her brother, Jason (Jami) Walker; her nephew and niece: Hayden and Hayleigh; and her close personal friends: Jaclyn, Kathy, Sophia, Zoe, and Matt. A private gathering will be held at Betzler Life Story Funeral Home, 6080 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo 269-375-2900.
