Michigan

, but left to follow his calling to the ministry and graduated from the Chicago Evangelical Institute. Along with his ministry, he was a self employed builder. On July 9, 1939 he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Brune who preceded him in death in 1976. Members of John's family include his two daughters: Grace Brinson (Bob) Smith of Denver, CO; Lois Brinson (fiancée Jeff Ropes) of

Kalamazoo

; two grand-daughters: Wendy (David) French of Fulton; Peggy (

Dennis
