Johanna Timpson

September 26, 1952 - May 5, 2020. Born in Hillsdale, Michigan, Johanna served in the Peace Corps in Jamaica and graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. She worked at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival where she made lifelong friends. She enjoyed returning to D.C. on a regular basis. Johanna worked at the Southwestern Michigan College as the Director of the Energy Education Program, at the Marcellus Public Library, served as a poll worker in her district over many election cycles, volunteered with White Yarrow CSA, and with the Cass County Conservation District. Johanna loved fiber arts, painting, calligraphy, gardening, reading, and her cats. Johanna was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Patricia “Randy” and Marilee. Johanna is survived by husband Tom Caskey; stepsons: Bill Caskey (Cori Somers) and Michael Caskey (Meghann Wilkinson); and grandkids: Rachael Caskey and Deven Caskey.
