Life Story / Obituary
Jeanne Kozerski of Kalamazoo, age 90, died on November 11, 2024. Jeanne was born December 31, 1933 in Kalamazoo to Max and Mary (Pryson) Ogrin who preceded her in death along with her brother, Jerry Ogrin. Surviving are her husband, Ed; children: Gary (Karen Lynn) Kozerski and Karen Marie Kozerski; grandchildren: Andrew and Peter; and brother: Robert (Penny) Ogrin; and nieces and nephews.
A proud graduate of St. Augustine High School, class of 1952, Jeanne began her career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She started as a clerk and worked her way to Office Manager. One day she struck up a conversation with Ed Kozerski. The pair had known each other for some time, but Ed asked Jeanne to join him at a work party as his date. The rest is history. Jeanne devoted much of her life to raising her two children, Gary and Karen, and later cherished time with her grandsons. Her selflessness extended to her church where she volunteered as manager of the St. Augustine food pantry. A passionate traveler, Jeanne and Ed shared many adventures. Among them were many cruises as well as a memorable trip to Poland. Jeanne also enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.
Please join us at a Life Story Celebration where food, drinks, and stories will be shared on Sunday, November 17 from 4-6 PM at Betzler Life Story Funeral Homes, 6080 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo (269) 375-2900. A prayer service will be held at 6 PM. Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 18 at 10 AM at St. Augustine Cathedral. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
