On Monday, October 12, 2020 Mary Jane (“Jane”) Baley, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at the age of 74.

Jane was born on August 18, 1946. She was adopted by Frank and Marie Pesek of St. Louis, MO. She attended Ursuline Academy in St. Louis for high school. She graduated from Purdue University in 1968. Jane lived in Kalamazoo, MI for 50 years where she raised two children, Heather and Jamie.

Jane had a passion for volunteering. Her volunteer activities over the years included her presidency of the Junior League of Kalamazoo and the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra League. She also served on the board of Pretty Lake Vacation Camp. She was an avid tennis player and enjoyed volunteering at the USTA Boys 16 & 18 National Tennis Championships at Kalamazoo College.

Jane was a loyal friend. She was always at the ready to share a meal and a movie with friends. She never passed up a chance to laugh in good times or provide a helping hand in hard times.

Jane was preceded in death by her father, Frank, and mother, Marie. She is survived by her children: Heather Baley of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and Jamie (Ellen) Baley of St. Louis, MO; her grandchildren: Lucy and Finn Baley; and her brother, Frank Pesek, of Morganton, NC.

In light of the current pandemic, a service will be held at a later date in Kalamazoo to celebrate her life with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you vote in the November election. Donations of funds, goods, or time can be made in her name to Pretty Lake Camp, www.prettylakecamp.org/support.

Please visit Jane’s webpage at www.BetzlerLifeStory.com where you may archive a favorite memory or photo and sign her online guestbook. Arrangements by Betzler Life Story Funeral Home, 6080 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo, (269) 375-2900.
