Imogene McGee, age 85, of Kalamazoo died on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Rose Arbor Hospice. She was born on May 27, 1935 in Lake City Arkansas, the daughter of Tom Harvey and Wonza Farthing. On January 5, 1957 Imogene married Henry McGee who preceded her in death on October 28, 2017. Imogene was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Anya Marie Stafford, 3 brothers and a sister.
Imogene was a caring a person who was devoted to her family, friends and faith. She was diligent in sending out cards to friends and family to help them celebrate special occasions and to remember them in their times of sorrow. An active member at St. John Bosco Parish, she rarely missed a Sunday. In her younger days she and Henry enjoyed square dancing , and Imogene liked to scrap book and garden.
Surviving members of her family include her daughter Lisa (Bob) Stafford; 2 grandchildren: Erin Gehrman and Melissa (Rob) Alexander and 2 great grandchildren: Timothy and Nora and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, January 29, 2021 at St. John Bosco, 23830 Front St, Mattawan. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:15 am at the church. Burial will be in the Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to St. John Bosco Church or Rose Arbor Hospice.
