Howard C. Odum, Jr.

It is with a heavy heart we announce the unexpected passing of Howard C. Odum on September 7, 2025. Born in Indiana on November 19, 1954 to Marion and Howard Odum Sr. Howard moved to Arizona in the early 80's to open a Waste Management office with his father, where he met his wife of 38 years, Beth Zude. He passed peacefully surrounded by his wife, Beth Odum, sister Georgia Thieme and niece Jackie Turner. He went by many names: Howard, Junior, JR, but his favorite was Uncle Yogi for all his nieces and nephews from the Flintstones, Hey there, Boo Boo! Howard was a hard worker, dedicated and loyal to all. Most of all he was an amazing husband of 38 years and best Dog Dad! Howard is survived by his wife, Beth Odum, sister and brother-in-law Georgia and Les Thieme, brother and sister-in-law Harold and Laurie Odum, mother-in-law Peggy Zude, brother-in-law Boyd Zude and many nieces and nephews from the Odum, Thieme and Turner families. He was a bright light and will be missed deeply. I love you to the moon and back, my love!
