Gloria Lee

Gloria Lee of Kalamazoo, age 90, died on June 17, 2025. Gloria was born July 27, 1934 to Dudley and Ruth (Wisely) Phipps. Gloria lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and enduring friendships. A proud graduate of Michigan State University, she went on to build a successful 30-year career with Upjohn Company, following in the footsteps of her father and older brother. An avid golfer, Gloria found joy on the fairways and continued to follow professional golf throughout her life – still asking about the latest PGA results just hours before her passing. Her love of the game was matched only by her love and commitment to her husband, Bill, and the joy she found in her weekly breakfast and lunch gatherings with close friends.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Bill; and her brother, Kenneth Gene Phipps. Surviving are her nieces and nephews and several close friends. Cremation has taken place. Private services will be held with inurnment at First Presbyterian Church. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Kalamazoo Humane Society, or Kalamazoo First Presbyterian Church.
