Life Story / Obituary
Glen D. Price, age 86, passed away peacefully January 8, 2011 in Kalamazoo. He was born September 16, 1924 in Berrien Center, the son of Albert and Catherine (Stanley) Price. Cremation will take place with private services.
Glen served proudly in the U.S. Army in the American and Asiatic-Pacific Theaters of World War II through his training as an Aerial Gunner in B-17s at Florida’s Tyndall Field. At a stint at Massachusetts’ Westover Field Glen met Edith Chandler from nearby Westfield MA where in 1946 their daughter, Annmarie, was born. In 1953 Glen graduated from American International College in Springfield MA.
Glen retired in 1989 from the Social Security Administration where he took much pride and loved helping so many individuals in Southwest Michigan over his 25 years. Often, Glen’s voice for the Social Security Administration was heard over the airwaves of the five county region, as well as at veterans, Rotary and many other presentations and talks.
Glen was preceded in death by his wife Edith and by 4 siblings Stanley, Reva, Francis and George. Surviving are his daughter, Annmarie (Wes) Freeland; 2 grandchildren: Timothy Freeland and Lisa Tabor; and a great-grandson, Adam Tabor. Please visit Glen’s personal web page at www.lifestorynet.com where you can archive a memory or sign his memory book. Memorial donations may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
