George Dorsey

George Paul Dorsey passed quietly into the arms of the Angels on February 26, 2022 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI, two days before his 72nd birthday with family keeping vigil by his side. George was born in Fort Fairfield to Clayton and Madeline (Brayson) Dorsey. He attended Fort Fairfield schools, graduating in 1969. He also attended UMFK in Fort Kent, ME. He was known for his kind, loving and caring disposition. He had an exceptional sense of humor and was always bringing friends home for a meal, of which his mom gladly provided, and lively conversation. He worked for many years in the furniture business, at times alongside his brother Francis. He retired a few years ago and spent his time doting on and caring for his four grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Francis. George is survived by his life partner Pat Vallier; ex-wife, Susan Marin; daughters: Stacy Hix, and Nichole McClish and her fiance Nick Simkus; as well as his grandchildren: Madison, Logan, Kennedy, and Griffin McClish all of Kalamazoo. Also, a "sister of the heart" Tammy Bubar Bouchard and husband Daryl of Presque Isle, ME. Cremation has taken place. His remains will reside between Michigan and Fort Fairfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Friday (MAR 11) at St. John Bosco Catholic Church Mattawan. Rosary at 10:30 AM. Rest in Peace George, you will be missed dearly.
