FRANCES "FRANNY' COLLINS

Age 93 of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2021. Frances was born September 25th, 1927 in Grand Rapids, MI., to Polish Immigrants, Walter and Veronica Zyskowski. She was the youngest of 13 children. In the late 1940's to early 1950's, Frances worked in some of Grand Rapids, Michigan's oldest furniture companies. Frances loved music and once sang at an opera house. Ava Maria was her favorite song. Frances loved to walk, and walked, everywhere. One of her favorite places to walk when she was younger, were the shores of Lake Michigan. Frances will be remembered for her smile and love. Being a resident of Park Village Pines for nearly 19 years, she had many friends and caretakers that will miss her loving and gentle spirit. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 48 years, Robert Collins Sr. and a Son, Robert Collins Jr of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Frances is survived by her children, whom she dearly loved. Sons, George (Millie) Meunier, of Chicago, IL., Patrick (Kay) Collins, of Glenwood, IA., daughters, Carla Jenkins and Shirley Housler, of Mi., and a daughter-in-law, Nan Collins of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Frances is also, survived by her many grand children, and several Great grand children. Frances also, leaves many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life for Frances will be held at a later date this year. Graveside internment with immediate family was held Tuesday, February 2nd at 2:00 p.m., at Hope Cemetery, Texas Corners, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
