Donald Flach

Donald Flach of Frederick, MD, age 86, died on June 23, 2025. Donald was born December 12, 1938 in Kalamazoo to Clarence and Anne (Feily) Flach. Donald was the youngest of six children. He grew up on the family farm in Scotts, Michigan.

After graduating High School, Donald attended Western Michigan University where he obtained his Master of Science degree in Physics. Donald moved to the Washington, D.C., area to work in the Bureau of Weights and Measures as an Electrical Measurements Physicist.

Donald enjoyed photography. He had a lifelong passion for trains. He belonged to a club that sponsored old steam engine railroad trips.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Rev. LaVern Flach, Gerald Flach, Marian Woodin, and Marcelline Fleck; nephews, Thomas Fleck and James Fleck; and nieces Mary Flach and Linda Tache. Surviving are his sister, Helen Fleck, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
