Dennis Clapper, age 75, of Kalamazoo died on Friday, December 16, 2022. He was born on March 23, 1947, the son of Marshall and Pauline Clapper in Kalamazoo and grew up in the Comstock area. Dennis was drafted in the US Army where he proudly served his country. On April 19, 1985 he married Anne McNally who preceded him in death in 2021. Dennis was an elevator mechanic and in his free time he enjoyed bow hunting, ice fishing, bicycling and loved being in the outdoors. Always quick with a joke, he liked to make people laugh and was passionate about his political point of views. Wherever Dennis went he seemed to know someone or if he didn’t he would strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He was social, outgoing and could relate to people with connections, stories and jokes. As a Father Dennis was supportive of his children and grandchildren in their endeavors. Members of his family include his children: Jesse (Trista), Sarah, Sam (Lacey) and 6 grandchildren. Other members of his family include Michael, Dan, Debbie and Gary and his sister Marsha Clapper.
