Catherine O’Neill of Gobles, age 70, died on July 3, 2024. Catherine was born March 10, 1954 in Chicago to Samuel and Margene (Francis) Hibben who preceded her in death along with her husband, Joseph. Surviving are her children: Patrick (Amber) Bradley, Michelle (Andrew) Hakala, and Brian O’Neill; grandchildren: Payton, Bradley, Jackson, Everly, and Liam; siblings: Eugene (Susan) Hibben, Kenneth (Deborah) Hibben, and Daniel Hibben; and nieces and nephews: Katie, Jennifer, Bryan, Marisa, Austin, and Sasha.

Catherine’s infectious personality and zest for life endeared her to many. Known for her vibrant spirit and charisma, she was a graduate of Valparaiso University and DePaul University, earning degrees in accounting and business administration. She had a passion for numbers and problem solving, evident by her several books of "extreme suduko." Catherine’s heart belonged to Chicago where she grew up. She found a second home and lasting friendships in Michigan.

She was a dedicated lifelong fan of “Da Bears" with season tickets for 24 years, and her enthusiasm made her the life of every party. Catherine was selfless, ensuring others had a good time. Her distinctive laugh, known fondly as the “Cathy Cackle,” would light up any room and serve as a beacon of her presence.

Her mantra of “just one more” exemplified her generous spirit and love for bringing people together. Catherine’s impact on those around her was profound and enduring, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and cherished memories.
