Life Story / Obituary
Bernadette Neumeier of Kalamazoo died at her residence on Saturday, October 19, 2024. She was born on July 13, 1960 in Muskegon to Bernard and Margaret (Jensen) Schaner and grew up in Hartford where she attended the local schools. On July 4, 1999 she married Rudy Neumeier and together they enjoyed many good and memorable times. Bernadette loved to garden and neighbors would marvel at her large ferns and begonias that she would cultivate each year. Bernadette was usually the life of the party and made others around her feel good about themselves with her uplifting spirit. A natural care giver, she lovingly took care of her Mother and deeply cared for her many nieces and nephews. She was also a big fan of both the Detroit Tigers and Green Bay Packers, and loved to sing karaoke and dance. She is survived by her husband Rudy; 7 siblings: Anne and her husband Tom Lefor, Kathleen Schaner , Veronica and her husband Allen Stefanski, Phillip and his wife Kristin Schaner, Christine and her husband Mark Parker, Matthew and his wife Cyndi Schaner, Magdalen Schaner. She is also survived by Rudy’s siblings: Linda Santoni , Nancy Andrews, Diane Neumeier; his 2 children: Gretchen Neumeier, Angela and her husband Mark Schumacher and their granddaughter Claudia; numerous nieces and nephews; her special “sister friend’ Jody Gritter, her friends from Nisker’s Restaurant and her two faithful pups, Rosie and Aaron. She was preceded in death by her sister Theresa Martens, a brother Gregory Schaner and her infant son, Kristopher Jon.
