Life Story / Obituary

Irma Rangel Romo was born August 11, 1961 to Daniel Romo and Josefa Romo in Caldwell, Idaho. She had eight siblings; Diana, Daniel, Melissa, Damien, Veronica, Candido, Humberto, and Vivian. The family made their way to western Michigan where they resided. Going by Amanda, she went to Paw Paw High School where she enjoyed playing Tennis and Volleyball. She married Ronald Yearling on June 14, 1988. Together, they had two daughters Veronica and Danielle. Amanda lived for her children and devoted her life to providing for her family. She loved cheering for them in their sports teams like basketball, softball, and volleyball. She was a coach at Bloomingdale Elementary coaching youth cheerleading. She also coached varsity volleyball at Bloomingdale High School leading the lady cardinals into the state playoffs when she was only 18 years old! She introduced her daughters and grandchildren to the love of the game at an early age. Amanda had a great compassion for everyone and always wanted to help others. She held the home together and was the rock of the family. She attended every game and missed nothing. She became a Grandmother to Aiden, Sophia, Landon. She spent her time having beach days, tickle fights, garage sales/thrift shopping and rock collecting. Amanda enjoyed going to the beach, collecting rocks, hiking anywhere in the Upper Peninsula, and making pottery. Much of her spare time was devoted to connecting with distant family and researching her genealogy. She was very proud to find she had Native American genetics and wanted to learn as much as she could. Amanda devoted much of her time to also caring for her mother, Josefa. Amanda was passionate about those that she loved and was a fierce protector of those she cared for. Amanda was very close with her sister Diana and together they were often called "Thelma and Louise". They were inseparable up to Diana's death in 2014. We know that they are reunited again in His kingdom. Amanda is survived by her husband Ronald Yearling, her children Veronica (Philip) Gosche and Danielle (Marc) Rachac; her grandchildren Aiden Gosche, Sophia Rachac, and Landon Gosche; her mother Josefa Romo; and her siblings, Daniel (Kris) Romo, Melissa (Mike) Kucharski, Veronica Kavannaugh, Candido (Diane) Romo, Damian Romo, Humberto (Michelle) Romo, and Vivian (Bradley) Romo King.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on on Sunday (DEC 4) from 1-3 PM at the American Legion in South Haven (129 Michigan Avenue, South Haven, MI 49090).
