Jill Saucier

Kindhearted, enthusiastic, and absolutely brimming with joy, Jill Saucier was a radiant presence in the lives of so many. She was always willing to go above and beyond to show fierce and unconditional love to those around her, and her sweet and playful spirit impacted us all for the better. So deeply loved, Jill will never be forgotten.

The early 1980s were exhilarating years to be living in the United States of America. In the booming world of pop culture, iconic musical artists such as Prince topped the charts. Meanwhile, the television scene was continuing to expand with Dukes of Hazzard being one of the most popular shows of the time, and Steven Spielberg’s Raiders of the Lost Ark came to life on the silver screen. During this exciting time, there was much to celebrate in the household of Daniel Saucier and Karen Campbell in Bangor, Maine, as they welcomed their newborn baby girl into their lives. Jill made her entrance into the world on October 13 of 1981.

Growing up, Jill was a typical girl of her generation in many ways. She was raised in the family home alongside her two siblings, Neil and Gwen. Jill looked up to her big brother and would often follow in his footsteps, learning more from him than he even knew. He fondly referred to her as “Kid” throughout her life and his face would light up as he answered her calls with the familiar “Hey Kid.” Her father worked for New England Telephone while her mother was a medical transcriptionist and pursued dental hygiene. Jill’s earliest years were spent in Brewer, Maine, but the family soon settled down in their home on Eaton Ridge with a pool in the backyard. She loved Maine and was proud to be a “Mainer”, developing a lifelong appreciation for flowers and nature. One of Jill’s favorite spots from her childhood was Acadia National Park visiting Pebble Beach and sitting on “Potato Chip Rock,” and she had fond memories of skiing with her family at Hermon Mountain. Every trip back to Maine included a trip to the “County” to visit all of her aunts, uncles and cousins living there.

Since she was a girl, Jill was very energetic, staying active through jazz and hip-hop Danielcing, cheerleading, skiing, hiking and playing soccer. She loved the Backstreet Boys and was a social butterfly and often had friends over to the house. Jill was the kind of empathetic spirit who got along well with everyone, but she was especially close to her lifelong best friend, April. She and April were inseparable. Jill was beloved by April’s family, affectionately known as “Curly” because of her head of curly hair. The two girls got into mischief at times, but their friendship was truly a bond like no other.

Throughout her childhood, Jill attended local schools. She graduated from John Bapst Catholic High School, then went on to study marketing, communications and advertising at Western New England. Jill worked for the dean during college and had an amazing internship at Lego on the “What Will You Make” tour. She would drive a truck all over the country setting up Lego displays, and wherever she was, her nieces would come to visit her, see her exhibits, and leave happy with bags of Legos. After college, Jill moved to Chicago to begin building her life and a successful career in marketing. Jill also found time to work as a waitress and bartender at Will’s, where she built a thriving community of friends. Jill also worked at ESPN Radio meeting Mike Ditka and giving her the chance to ride the Zamboni at a Chicago Blackhawks game. She was involved in hosting many community events and on-site guests.

New and exciting changes were on the horizon for Jill as she met a charming man named Joe Webb. The two first connected during the March Madness tourney meeting at a restaurant, Newport Bar & Grill, owned by a friend of Joe’s. A seat happened to be open right next to Joe, and as fate would have it, Jill was the one to sit in it. Joe was immediately drawn to her beauty, her vivid personality, and her strong family values, and Jill was just as smitten. They enjoyed a first date at a speakeasy in Chicago followed by dinner at Happy Camper, where they discovered they both shared a love for Hawaiian pizza! Even Jill’s family could tell that Joe was the love of her life when she was always slipping away to make calls back to Joe during a family vacation at a camp in Maine. The two were truly soulmates. Joe lovingly referred to her as “Blondie” as a tribute to her extreme (and natural) blonde hair.

All who knew Jill can certainly attest that her family was her main focus, and she always made time for her loved ones. She struggled with the distance when her older brother, Neil, joined the United States Navy. However, later in life, Jill loved riding the Amtrak from Chicago to Kalamazoo and staying with Neil and his family. Jill was thrilled to become a doting aunt to her nieces, Evelyn, Hailie, and Isabelle, and nephew, Ethan. And recently became a great Aunt to Ellie and Bridger. Aunt Jill made it to every game or special event she could. Jill remained very close with her sister, Gwen, as well. Gwen got her into country music, and they enjoyed an especially memorable girls’ trip to Nashville. Jill’s relationship with Joe also brought her close to his family. She got to meet some of Joe’s grandparents, and the two would travel to Europe to visit his sister & brother-in-law living overseas and sailed the Greek Isles. When both Jill and Joe felt ready to leave city life behind, they settled down in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to be closer to her brother and Joe’s family on the Eastern side of the state.

Throughout her career, Jill always held positions as manager. Her passion was welcoming and mentoring others in her field. Traveling was one of Jill’s greatest loves and especially traveling with Joe. She was able to travel to many amazing locations, including London, Mexico City, Hawaii, China, Vietnam, and Brazil. Jill enjoyed tasting the local cuisine and getting away from the touristy spots wherever she went. In her free time, she loved cooking and was constantly trying out new recipes. Jill was a lifelong sports fan. Some of her favorite teams to watch were the New England Patriots, the Boston Bruins, the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics. Some of her family’s most memorable trips involve days at Fenway Park or cheering on her favorite New England team of the season. Jill also loved having season tickets to the Chicago Cubs when she lived just five blocks away, and she even got to kiss the Stanley Cup once!

Her dear friend, April, always held a special piece of Jill’s heart. She was able to comfort April after her father passed away, and once, Jill booked a spontaneous trip to the Dominican Republic for the two of them when April really needed to get away.

When reflecting on the overflowing life of Jill Saucier, it is easy to see how rich she was in family, friends, and love. A devoted fiancé, sister, aunt, Godmother and best friend, she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, walking through life with grace, determination, and compassion, always looking to care for others. Although she is gone far too soon, Jill leaves behind a priceless collection of memories that her loved ones will forever hold close to their hearts.

Jill Saucier of Mattawan, age 44, devoted daughter died unexpectedly on July 5, 2026. Surviving are her father, Daniel Saucier and mother, Karen Campbell; her fiancé, Joe Webb; siblings: Neil (Tricia) Saucier and Gwen (John) Zink; nieces Evelyn, Hailie and Isabelle and nephew Ethan.
