Charles "Chuck" Markwell

Charles “Chuck” Markwell of Kalamazoo, age 73, died unexpectedly Sunday, November 7, 2021, in Kalamazoo. He was born July 30, 1948, in Muleshoe, TX, the son of D.C. “Doc” and Elzada Marie Hensley. He owned and operated Markwell Flooring for many years and had an excellent reputation. Chuck was a master gardener and could grow anything, especially heirloom tomatoes. He enjoyed riding and working on his Harleys and had a special love for cats. Most of all, he was a loving father and husband who utterly adored his wife of 44 years, Bonnie Jean. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Markwell in 2013; brother, Dave Hensley, and brother-in-law, Les Lowder. Surviving are 2 children: Christine (Bobby) Stevens and Travis Markwell (Jen VanEyk); grandson, Jacob; sister, Susan Hensley; brother, Randy Gibbs; sister-in-law, Jeanne Lowder; and his 3 beloved cats.
