Age 90, died May 1, 2019 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. He was born July 6, 1928 in Pasadena, CA, the son of Charles and Hester (Leitner) Fahrenbach. Carl was an Army Veteran and a member of St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church. He earned his undergraduate from the University of Nebraska and received a Masters in Education from Western Michigan University. Carl taught in several different Kalamazoo Public Schools as an elementary teacher for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne Fahrenbach in 2007. Members of his family include many nieces and nephews: Van (Joan) Maltby; Patrick (Deborah) Maltby, Teresa (Bruce) Weiderman, Sarah (Jeff) Pfost, Anne (Dennis) Chipps Brinker, and William (Allison) Chipps; several great nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Kathlyne Maltby. Cremation will take place. Services will be held Thursday (MAY 9th) 11AM at St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church (210 Nichols Rd.) followed by a lunch in the church hall. Burial will take place at Alamo Center Cemetery with Otsego V.F.W. Post 3030 providing military honors. The family would like to thank New Friends and Rose Arbor Hospice for their loving care.
